“Measure happiness, not engagement”
I came across this very interesting concept while looking for professional solutions to support Well Being actions within a corporate climate.
“Measure happiness, not engagement” is brought by Friday.work, a London company specialized in happiness metrics for business.
What I like from Friday.work
Friday.com’s team “reckon improving work life on a large scale can change the world”.
It is about creating a working place where collaborators feel happy and therefore engaged!
Building modern, agile teams
When we feel happy we generate all kind of positive emotions.
3 of them are identified as particularly useful at work (source Friday.work):
- “Enthusiasm – fabulous for creativity: It enables the cognitive leap essential for innovation.”
- “Interest – brilliant for productivity: This energy keeps us committed through the short-term tasks that are mundane or challenging.”
- “Affection – essential for retention: People rarely leave teams when they really like one another.”
The business case
There is a website called “Happiness at Work Survey” (from the creators of Friday.work).
Here I found interesting figures that show how important it is to take care of happiness at work.
